3rd Grade Quest Students Explore Lunar New Year with Ozobots! Sofia and Connor from our 3rd Grade Quest class have been combining creativity and coding as they learn about the traditions of the Lunar New Year! After researching the holiday’s customs, they were challenged to program their Ozobots to collect lucky money in red envelopes—just like in the New Year celebrations! It’s amazing to see them problem-solve and apply their tech skills in such a fun and meaningful way. Way to go, Quest!

SCHOOL RECORD Congratulations to Jesse Dawson and Kiplin Loprinzi on setting new school indoor track records this past week.

CONGRATULATIONS! We are so proud to announce that 6th grader Leah Copeland Cromeans took home 1st place in the Lion's Club Poster Contest for the entire northern half of Mississippi! Her beautiful artwork, centered around the theme "Peace Without Limits", stood out and earned her this incredible achievement. Leah’s poster will now represent our district at the state competition, and we couldn’t be more excited for her next steps!

4th Grade Heartwarming Letter Writing Project In December, Mrs. Edwards's 4th-grade students took part in a special letter-writing project where they wrote heartfelt letters to children at the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore, Maryland. The students enjoyed knowing that their words and small toy gifts would bring some holiday cheer to kids facing medical challenges. It was a fun and meaningful class project, and we're so proud of their kindness and generosity. Thank you to our students for spreading love and joy!

101 Days Smarter Our Pre-K students celebrated reaching the milestone of 101 days smarter in a fun and creative way by dressing up as 101 Dalmatians! They participated in a variety of exciting activities centered around the number 101 and the beloved Dalmatian dogs. From counting games to arts and crafts, it was a day full of learning and fun! We’re so proud of the progress our learners have made this year.

LUES CELEBRATIONS! What a week of celebrations at LUES! From Accelerated Reader Rewards and the Honor Roll Breakfast to Benchmark fun with "Pie the Teacher," our students showed how amazing they are. We’re so proud of their hard work and dedication!

100 Days Brighter! Today, our 1st graders celebrated 100 Days of School—and they're 100 days brighter, smarter, and kinder! From fun activities to creative projects, our students have been working hard and shining bright every step of the way. We're so proud of how much they've learned and grown!

PUBLIC NOTICE K-12 education vendor PowerSchool experienced a data breach last week with their student information system (SIS). Although LCSD is a customer of PowerSchool, we do not use their SIS, which was impacted by the data breach. PowerSchool provided the following statement to LCSD: “While this incident affected certain customers of PowerSchool SIS, our thorough forensic investigation has confirmed that information related to other PowerSchool products was not affected. As you are not a PowerSchool SIS customer, your products were not impacted as a result of this incident.”
