Sweet Science Alert! Mrs. Butts and Mrs. Bolger’s 6th grade Science classes at LUES wrapped up their unit on cell theory by getting creative with animal cell cookies! Students worked in groups to design their own animal cells using sugar cookies and various toppings. They had to think critically about which toppings best represented the organelles they’d been learning about. From frosting to candy, the creativity was off the charts! What a fun and tasty way to solidify their understanding of cell structures!
