LCSD has been notified of a recent data breach involving Instructure, the company that operates Canvas. This was not a breach of our district’s internal systems, but of the Canvas platform, which impacted schools worldwide.
The information involved is limited to basic directory data (such as names and school email addresses). At this time, to protect our systems, no additional data will be sent to this platform.
We encourage everyone to be cautious of unexpected emails, as phishing attempts may increase. This is an update to the notice posted earlier this week on our website. LCSD will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional updates as needed.
