Oxford, MS - As Lafayette County continues to experience economic growth and an increase in revenue through property values, the Lafayette County School District (LCSD) is proud to continue reinvesting the local revenue directly into the people who serve our students each day.

Combined with last year’s funding, LCSD makes the following meaningful salary enhancements to include:

  • Doubling the local teacher supplement to better support and retain high-quality educators.

  • A 6% raise for Teacher Assistants and Facilitators, recognizing the essential role they play in student learning and daily school operations.

“Our community's growth allows us to better support the dedicated professionals who make Lafayette schools thrive,” said Superintendent Jay Foster. “We’re committed to putting those dollars to work for the people who impact our students daily.”

These investments in staff align with broader efforts to support students and families across the district. As previously shared in June, LCSD will once again provide school supplies and student fee assistance for AP and Dual Enrollment tuition — a reflection of the district’s ongoing focus on responsible financial planning and reducing burdens on families.

“We’re doing what’s best for our community,” Foster said. “With smart planning and community support, we’ll continue to find ways to focus both on our staff and our students.”

Lafayette County School District remains committed to long-term, student-focused planning that supports learning, stability, and success for every member of the Commodore family.
