**How do I register?

**Who qualifies for Kindergarten?
A child must be five on or before September 1, 2026 in order to qualify for Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year.  

**Do we have to live in the Lafayette County School District to attend LES?
Yes, you must reside in the Lafayette County School District to attend Kindergarten at LES.

**What documents do I need to complete registration?
Registration will not be finalized until all required items are provided. You will not be able to submit the online form without your Proof of Residency (required for all students) and your Immunization Records (required for new students and upcoming 7th graders).

All new students must provide:

  • Birth Certificate

  • MS Form 121 Immunization Record

  • Withdrawal or Final Report Card from the previous school

  • Two (2) Proofs of Residency (see requirements below)

Legal and Custody Documentation

  • Custody/Guardianship: If a custody order or legal document governing guardianship exists, the most recent copy must be uploaded during the registration process before registration can be approved.

  • No Contact Status: If you designate a "NO CONTACT" status for an individual to restrict their access to the student, a copy of the legal documentation signed by a judge must be uploaded during the registration process before registration can be approved.

Immunization Compliance

A Mississippi Form 121 is required for:

  • All students new to the Lafayette County School District.

  • Any student who has received updated immunizations since their last enrollment.

  • ALL 7th-grade students, who must show proof of the required TDAP immunization.

Residency Verification

The parent or legal guardian must provide one item from List 1 and one item from List 2 to verify their physical address.

Important Requirements:

  • All documents must show the physical address and be in the parent or guardian’s name.

  • Driver’s licenses, automobile titles, and voter precinct IDs, check stubs, bank statements, tax returns, medical bills, or PO Box Addresses are NOT acceptable proofs.

  • If needed, documents must be notarized outside of the school district.

List 1: First Proof (Must be one of the following)

  • Mortgage Statement (current year)

  • Filed Homestead Exemption Application Form (current year)

  • Apartment or Home Lease/Agreement (current year)

  • Filed Property or Warranty Deed (must show physical address and be accompanied by a current utility bill in good standing)

List 2: Second Proof (Must be one of the following)

  • Automobile Registration (must be for a current vehicle tag, not the title)

  • Utility Bills (e.g., water, electric, cable, internet, or garbage).

    • Note: All utility bills must be dated within 60 days of registration and cannot be past due.

**How do I apply?

  1. Request a registration code using this link.

  2. After you recieve a code from the school, log in to your ActiveParent account or create an account if needed > Lafayette Active Parent

  3. Verify your information.

  4. Click on the drop-down in the top right and select Registration

  5. Enter the student code provided by the school & click the drop-down menu to select your child's name

  6. Enter and verify information as needed.

  7. Save and finish the registration when all sections are complete.

**How will I be notified that my registration is complete? 
After the registration process is complete and the counselor has approved it, you will receive an email from SAM Spectra confirming that the online student registration process is complete.  All eligible Kindergarten students will be enrolled once the registration submission is complete.
