Who qualifies for Kindergarten?
A child must be five on or before September 1, 2026 in order to qualify for Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year.  

Do we have to live in the Lafayette County School District to attend LES?
Yes, you must reside in the Lafayette County School District to attend Kindergarten at LES.

How do I apply?

  1. Log in to your ActiveParent account or create an account if needed > Lafayette Active Parent

  2. Verify your information.

  3. Click on the drop-down in the top right and select Registration

  4. Enter the student code provided by the school & click the drop-down menu to select your child's name

  5. Enter and verify information as needed.

  6. Save and finish the registration when all sections are complete.

How will I be notified that my registration is complete? 
After the registration process is complete and the counselor has approved it, you will receive an email from SAM Spectra confirming that the online student registration process is complete.  All eligible Kindergarten students will be enrolled once the registration submission is complete. 

Required Documents To Complete Registration
If you do not have the items listed below, your registration will not be finalized.  You will not be able to submit without your proof of residency (all students) or your immunization records.

Required Documentation for Registration

  • Immunization Compliance (MS) Form 121 - New students to Lafayette County School District, any student with updated immunizations since last enrollment, AND ALL 7th-grade students (showing the required TDAP immunization). 

Residency Verification

The parent or legal guardian of a student seeking to enroll must provide the school district with at least one of the items from the first list and one of the items from the second list as verification of their address. A driver's license, automobile title, or voter precinct identification are not acceptable proofs.


Below are the documents that will be accepted. All must have the physical address showing, be in the parent’s or guardian’s name, and within 60 days of the submission of registration if submitting a utility bill.  

  • The FIRST PROOF must be from the following items:

    • Mortgage Statement (current year)

    • Filed Homestead Exemption Application Form (current year)

    • Filed Property or Warranty Deed (must have a physical address) *must have a current utility bill with this

    • Apartment or Home Lease/Agreement (current year)

  • The SECOND PROOF may come from the following items:

    • Automobile registration (for current vehicle tag, not title)

    • Utility bills (must be within 60 days of registration), for example, water bill, electric, cable, internet, garbage

*All utility bills used as proof MUST BE DATED WITHIN 60 days from the date of registration. 

If needed, documents must be notarized outside of the school district.
