Posted on 06/09/2022
Along with National History Day®, we are pleased to announce that the following student project by Lafayette's Matthew Addy has been competitively selected to be featured in virtual showcases at cultural institutions across Washington, D.C. including Ford’s Theatre, Planet Word, the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, and the White House Historical Association.

National History Day is a year-long academic program focused on historical research, interpretation, and creative expression for sixth to twelfth-grade students. By participating in NHD, students become writers, filmmakers, web designers, playwrights, and artists as they create unique contemporary expressions of history. The experience culminates in a series of contests at the local and affiliate levels and an annual national competition in the nation's capital in June.
